Seasonal Campsite Manager - Couples particularly welcome to apply

Llandyn Caravan & Camping, Llangollen, North Wales
Season: 15 March – 1 November 2027
On-site accommodation, utilities and Wi-Fi included
Couple: approx. 53 hours per week between you at £14 per hour
Applications from exceptional individual candidates also welcomed

We are looking for a friendly, capable and highly organised person or couple to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Llandyn Caravan & Camping for our 2027 season.
Llandyn is an established, family-run touring and camping site in a beautiful riverside setting just outside Llangollen. We have built a strong reputation for providing a friendly welcome, exceptionally clean facilities and a peaceful, well-maintained site, and we are looking for someone who will take real pride in maintaining those standards.
This is much more than simply covering reception or working through a list of jobs. We are looking for people we can trust to take ownership of the day-to-day running of Llandyn: welcoming guests, keeping everything organised, noticing what needs doing and making sure the campsite continues to run smoothly.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role combining guest service, campsite management, administration, cleaning and practical outdoor work.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • welcoming guests and managing arrivals and check-ins;
  • managing bookings using our online booking system, Anytime Booking, with full training provided;
  • answering telephone and email enquiries in a friendly and professional manner;
  • running our small on-site shop, including monitoring stock and placing orders;
  • managing our milk and coffee vending machines, including cleaning, refilling, stock management and liaising with suppliers;
  • maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout the campsite facilities;
  • completing daily cleaning and evening facility checks/site walkarounds during busy periods;
  • monitoring campsite supplies and ordering ahead so that we don’t run out;
  • carrying out routine Health & Safety and fire-safety checks;
  • dealing with guest queries and resolving day-to-day problems calmly and professionally;
  • keeping the campsite tidy, safe and welcoming; and
  • general grounds maintenance, including mowing and strimming.
The successful applicant(s) will be trusted to manage the normal day-to-day operation of Llandyn independently, using their own judgement and initiative and escalating significant matters or emergencies when required.

Who are we looking for?

Previous campsite experience would certainly be useful, but it isn’t essential. We are more interested in finding people with the right attitude, judgement and standards.
You may come from camping or holiday parks, hospitality, tourism, visitor accommodation or another customer-facing environment.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is:

  • warm, friendly and professional with guests;
  • exceptionally organised and able to plan ahead;
  • honest, trustworthy and dependable;
  • proactive and able to notice what needs doing without waiting to be asked;
  • calm and practical when problems arise;
  • comfortable working independently and making sensible day-to-day decisions;
  • particular about cleanliness and presentation;
  • confident communicating professionally by telephone and email; and
  • comfortable using basic computer systems.
We value good communication and would like our Site Manager(s) to keep us informed of anything important, pass on useful guest feedback and feel comfortable making constructive suggestions about the campsite.
A driving licence isn’t essential, although applicants should be aware that Llandyn is in a rural location and public transport is limited.

Applying as a couple

The role offers a fixed weekly management fee of £742, with an anticipated average workload of approximately 53 hours per week between you. The workload will vary throughout the season, with quieter weeks balancing out busier periods. The weekly fee remains the same regardless of these seasonal fluctuations.

We don’t expect those hours or responsibilities to be divided equally. Instead, we would agree a structure that plays to your individual strengths.
For example, one person may naturally prefer guest-facing work, bookings, emails, stock management and organisation, while the other may enjoy practical work, grounds maintenance and looking after the vending operation. Equally, you may prefer to share most aspects of the role.
What matters to us is that between you, you take ownership of Llandyn and work together to keep the campsite running smoothly and to a consistently high standard.

Applying as an individual

Although we particularly welcome applications from couples, we would also be very happy to hear from an exceptional individual.
Llandyn has been successfully managed by one Site Manager for the past four seasons, so we know that the core campsite management role is entirely manageable for the right person.

For an individual, the role offers a fixed weekly management fee of £478.50, with an anticipated average workload of approximately 33 hours per week. The workload will vary depending on how busy the campsite is, but the weekly fee remains the same throughout the season. Some of the additional grounds and vending responsibilities would be covered separately.

Working pattern

Campsite life means that weekends and bank holidays are an essential part of the role, and evening facility checks/site walkarounds are required during busy periods.

For a couple, we would expect the working week to be structured so that between you the campsite has good management cover, while also providing regular time away from the site.

The precise working pattern, division of hours and regular time off will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant(s).

Contract and accommodation

This is a seasonal self-employed contract running from 15 March until 1 November 2027.

A private one-bedroom en-suite pod is provided on the campsite for the duration of the contract. It has its own kitchen and living facilities, with electricity, heating, water and Wi-Fi included.

The accommodation is suitable for either an individual or couple, and a pet can be considered by prior agreement.

Unfortunately, the accommodation isn’t suitable for children.

Could this be the right role for you?

This could be a great opportunity for a couple — or the right individual — who enjoys working with people, likes being outdoors and gets genuine satisfaction from keeping somewhere running really well.

You’ll have considerable independence and the opportunity to make the role your own while looking after a campsite that we care a great deal about.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, we’d be very pleased to hear from you.

Please email stay@llandyn.wales with:
  • your CV (or a CV for each applicant if applying as a couple);
  • a short introduction telling us a little about yourself;
  • details of any relevant experience; and
  • a little about why the role and spending the 2027 season at Llandyn appeals to you.
If you’re applying as a couple, we’d also love to hear how you think your different skills and experience could work together in running the campsite.

Please send applications to: stay@llandyn.wales
